Mario has been running this restaurant on Marine Parade for over thirty years. The dining room has been updated, the menu has evolved with the seasons and the local catch, but the core of what Mario's is has not changed: a family business that takes its food seriously and its guests personally.
Guests regularly describe being visited at the table by Mario himself, sometimes to check on a dish, sometimes to bring something from the kitchen that wasn't on the order. That kind of hosting is harder to find than a good panna cotta, and rarer than thirty years at the same address.
